Vidal rules out move

Arturo Vidal has ruled out a potential move to Manchester United and is keen to pen a new deal with Bayern Munich.

Vidal is due to fall out of contract in the summer of 2019 and speculation has been rife that Reds boss Jose Mourinho is weighing up a potential move to bring the Chilean to Old Trafford in the summer.

Bayern have also confirmed the capture of Leon Goretzka from Schalke ahead of the summer transfer window, and that has led some sources to suggest Vidal may have to move on if he is to play regularly next season, with United keeping tabs on the situation.

Chelsea are also keen, however, the Chile international has now stressed he wants to stick with Bayern and is confident he will still be a regular for the Allianz Arena side regardless of who the club sign over the summer.

“I don’t think about a move,” he told reporters. “I feel incredibly well here. Sure, I would like to extend. My kids are also very happy here.

“There’s a good reason I play in this team. I’m certainly one of the best in my position in the world for good reason.”

It remains to be seen how serious Mourinho was about signing Vidal in the summer, but it looks as though he will now have to turn his attentions elsewhere in the search for new recruits.
